Hey everyone, wild few days there last month huh? A few weeks ago I got to achieve a 20 year dream and see myself on Jeopardy! I cannot even tell you how unreal that feels. And while I wish I could have given everybody a few more nights in the run (and made it to that sweet sweet Tournament of Champions) I’m *beyond* happy & grateful for how things played out. I’m a 3x Jeopardy! champion with an incredible experience that I’ll have for the rest of my life and which I’m extremely eager to start talking about onstage. (…and yeah $53K is pretty dope too).
More than anything I need to send out a MASSIVE THANKS to *everyone* who wished me luck, shared my story, organized a watch party, reached out to me with kind words, and offered their support and encouragement. I can’t even process the degree to which folks were out there for me night after night. People have told me how cool & collected I seemed on the show but they should see me reading all of the positive shoutouts and messages I’ve received, I haven’t been cool & collected then, I’ve been absolutely floored and overwhelmed. I’m still working on acknowledging & responding to everyone who’s gotten in touch but I just want to say that it’s meant more than you can ever know.
And lastly, while I may not be a 5-day “Super Champion” I do feel confident in my early bid for taking the crown in the Jeopardy! 2018 Jacket Game. #Fresh2Death

…I won an Emmy!
I’m very happy to say that….I Won an Emmy!!! Yes indeed, I was recognized for my work hosting last year’s WBZ/CBS Boston web series The Secret Worlds of Boston Comic Con.
I’m honored & thrilled and I could not have done it without my amazing crew over at WBZ. The awards gala was a fun/weird experience which I’ve been talking about on stage recently, there just might be a story in there yet.
Full Disclosure: This was a *regional* Emmy…and I won in a 3-way tie…but hey, Emmy right???

Heya, for this past Black History Month I completed a daily art & history project on Instagram under the title #BlackHistoryRepeatsItself Each day I took pieces from Black publications over the last century (Jet Magazine, The Crisis, Ebony, etc) & compared them to stories from 2016 – present by creating collages from historical sources and modern day news pieces. Aside from getting to indulge in my love of history, archives, & collage I wanted to explore how despite so much progress in the last century (progress that’s seriously threatened with current political developments) a lot of things haven’t changed much at all. Some of the posts were funny, others…not so much. Anyway, the IG project officially wrapped at the end of the month, but I’ve compiled all 28 posts (images & commentary) on a new site: www.BlackHistoryRepeatsItself.com
I wanted to preserve the project in an easily accessible way but I’ll also be continuing and expanding it there as well. I got really into digging through the materials and there’s a lot that I want to both revisit and explore anew. Without the character or image-size limits of Instagram I look forward to doing even more. Check it out if it’s your thing. The past is prologue.

Did you know that the MIT Science Fiction Society maintained a MASSIVE library of books and oddities. I didn’t, at least until I had the explore it with the CBS Boston crew as part of our “Secret Worlds of Boston Comic Con” web series.
