#ThrowbackThursday doesn’t have to be just once a week! Relive days gone by with the Boston Circus Guild’s “Throwback Tales: A Retro Spectacle.” During this fantastical #flashback to the 80’s, 90’s and early 2000’s, local circus artists will share personal stories from their youth reinterpreted through superhuman feats of skill. Between acts, a DJ will take you on a time-travelling tour of nostalgic musical hits from the last three decades. AND I’ll be your ringmaster for each evening. So don’t miss out, come through to Club Oberon and live the magic with this fantastic cast as we take you back…way back.
We just completed our first run of shows last night and they were INCREDIBLE. So much talent on the stage with an awesome use of the space and a ridiculous soundtrack. Truly a great night out where you’re right in the middle of the action. Dance parties during the intermissions people…
The second half of our run will be this coming week.
- 1 show on Thursday 5/11 8pm
- 2 shows on Friday 5/12 7pm + 10:30pm
TIX: Use promo code: RETRO to save $5 off your ticket! See you there.

Thrilled to be pat of the events surrounding the Company One Theatre production of “We’re Gonna Die” starring the super-talented Obehi Janice! I got to see a rehearsal performance of the show and I absolutely can’t wait to scope it up on the stage. You might still have a chance at tix but the remaining shows will def sell out so hurry. After the Tues 4/26 performance I and a bunch of awesome local comics/poets/storytellers will be doing our thing for the post-show, should be a blast!

This might be my favorite image of me ever. Thanks to “Balsamic Winaigrette” winner of last night’s Best Smart-ass Point of the night during April’s The Big Quiz Thing show at Oberon in Cambridge. This was their answer to a question asking them to identify a photoshopped image of radio/TV legend Joe Franklin wearing Yves St. Laurent.
They got the huge ears and bulging left-breast pocket and everything. And were nice enough to point out that my microphone was in fact NOT a penis. Thanks to all.
Be sure to check out our spectacular May the Fourth Be With You spectacular, an entire evening of Star Wars Themed trivia, 5/4 8pm @ Oberon.

I’m a little late in updating about it here, but the weekend before Halloween I set a goal for myself: Win 2 story slams in 2 nights. I’m very happy to say that I was able to do it, so yeah, not a bad 48 hours. I owe many thanks to Massmouth for putting on the excellent “Near Death” slam at Sanctuary on Sunday and also to The Moth for packing the house at OBERON last night as we heard tales of “Lost & Found”. Amazing tellers and audiences for both shows, I couldn’t have asked for more. Seriously folks, if you’ve never made it out to a story slam before, treat yo self. We have a pretty damn good scene.

A while back I dressed up as a cosplaying JRR Tolkien as part of an awesome multi-art Literary Roast of sacred cow authors. It was a pretty rad time. On 9/15 we do it all again and this time I’ll become…Cormac McCarthy!!!
It’s about to get real.
Check out the awesome trailer for the event:
